The Practice

ASTAS works exclusively with naturally shed and reclaimed antler.

Material is preserved as found.
Intervention is limited. Structure is deliberate. Embellishment is excluded.

Each work is singular. No repetition is produced.
Restraint operates as method. Form remains primary.

ETHOS

Structure

The work exists between natural form and controlled structure.
It is not preservation, nor decoration, but reinterpretation.
Each piece is singular, defined by material and resolved through intent.

Material

Antler and bone are retained for their structure, density, and natural geometry.
Each piece begins with material shaped by time, not fabrication.
All materials are ethically sourced and legally obtained.

Process

Each work is composed through selection, reduction, and placement.
Form is not added, but revealed through constraint.
Every decision is made in relation to balance, proportion, and negative space.
